The HUB Office offers training opportunities for HUB firms and state purchasing officials. Training programs for HUB firms have consisted of “How To Do Business” with the State of North Carolina, Vendor Registration, Certification and E-Procurement. We partner with state agencies, community colleges, state university and public schools systems provide insights on “How To Do Business” with those specific entities. Training components consist of how to obtain HUB Certification, how certified HUB firms can identify potential contract opportunities, how to register in Vendor Link, how to sign up electronic bid notification through the Interactive Purchasing System (IPS), and how to register with the state’s E-Procurement and E-Quote systems.
The HUB Office also provides training to state purchasing officials and capital project coordinators. Training components consist of overviews of HUB-related legislation, executive orders, policies and administrative rules.
Training programs are also developed for specific program initiatives and projects. For example, the HUB Office and the State Construction Office developed an application system, HUBSCO Construction Reporting System (HUBSCO), which is designed to capture construction project information from state and public entities. Designed for state and public entity personnel, it teaches how to access and utilize the HUBSCO system. The training module includes a manual, a test site into which users can input test data to become familiar with the system, and use of the live HUBSCO production site.
