In 2013 through April 26, 2013

  • More than 34 North Carolinians gave the gift of life through organ donation.

As of March 31, 2013

  • Over 4,347,096 North Carolinians have an organ donor designation heart on their drivers’ license or ID card.

As of December 31, 2012

  • More than 298 North Carolinians gave the gift of life through deceased organ donation (between January 31, 2012 through December 31, 2012).

In 2013 through April 26, 2013

  • 73 North Carolinians received a life saving transplant.
  • Sadly, 17 North Carolinians on the transplant waiting list died due to the shortage of donated organs.

In all of 2012

  • 423 North Carolinians gave the gift of life through organ donation.
  • 954 North Carolinians received a life saving transplant.
  • Sadly, 232 North Carolinians on the transplant waiting list died due to the shortage of donated organs.
