State Building Commission Presents Construction Awards RALEIGH —The Frank B. Turner Award was presented to a career state employee and Certificates of Merit were awarded to designers and contractors today during the 26 th annual State Construction Conference at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The event, which attracted more than 1,100 contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, landscape architects and representatives of state agencies, was presented by the State Construction Office (SCO) of the N.C. Department of Administration. The Turner Award was presented to William “Bill” Davis, assistant director of the SCO Design Review Section. Given annually since 1983, it recognizes a state government employee for dedicated public service and outstanding professional contributions to the built environment. One of 12 candidates considered for the honor, Davis has worked at the SCO since 1982. The following designers and contractors received Certificates of Merit from the State Building Commission for outstanding achievement: Residence Halls 1 and 2, N.C. Central University Mold remediation at the Executive Mansion Governor James. G. Martin Building, State Fairgrounds Withers Hall Renovation, N.C. State University Cates Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation and Dan Allen Drive Resurfacing Project, N.C. State University Ashe Center Addition, Wilkes Community College ### |
